Bambara Group purchases cloud based payment innovator IP Payments

SLM Corporate (“SLM”) is pleased to announce that it has acted as corporate adviser to Bambara Group on the purchase of Australian owned IP Payments, the second acquisition for the Group in the Asia Pacific region after Keycorp which was acquired in May 2014. The addition of complementary payments companies IP Payments and Keycorp is a strategic stake in the Asia Pacific market for Bambara. This activity is reflective of Bambara’s ambitions to provide a broader and deeper set of payment services and capabilities in the region and will drive further acquisitions in the coming year.

Bambara is the largest in Sweden for online payment transactions and brings European payments industry expertise to the APAC market.

IP Payments was founded in 2004 and provides payment gateway solutions to clients who process credit card transactions.  The company services over 3,500 enterprises including global organizations. .

SLM also advised Keycorp on its acquisition by Archer Capital in 2010 in a public-to-private transaction via a Scheme of Arrangement.

SLM advises on the sale of Phoenix Institute of Australia to Australia Careers Network Limited (ASX: ACO)

SLM is pleased to announce that it has advised the owner of Phoenix Institute of Australia on the sale of all of the shares to Australian Careers Network (ASX: ACO).

Phoenix Institute of Australia is a Melbourne-based registered training organization (RTO) that has operated for 18 years and developed a reputation as a leading provider of holistic and transpersonal education programs.

Australian Careers Network Limited is a recently ASX-listed full service VET provider that delivers VET qualifications through multiple RTOs across 40 locations, as well as through partnerships with key TAFE institutes and corporate clients.  The RTO sector is seen as highly fragmented and acquisitions of complimentary businesses such as Phoenix Institute of Australia is a key part of Australian Careers Network’s growth strategy.

Sale of the historic Peko Project

We are pleased to advise that the historic Peko project has been sold.  Completion occurred on 16 October 2014.

Peko comprises a large portfolio of mineral leases and exploration licences in the Tennant Creek area, Northern Territory, which encompass the historic Peko Mine.  The Project area contains a large measured resource of magnetite, gold, copper and cobalt mine tailings from 50 years of processing of ore from the mine.

The buyer is a private investor.  SLM Corporate acted for the vendors in this transaction.
